Shaina Evoniuk

Violinist, Aerialist
Born and raised in Ashland, OR, Shaina began classical violin studies at the age of five. She performed with her father's band as a child, fiddling at bluegrass festivals and camps. She moved to California to attend the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, earning her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. Upon graduating, and inspired by the San Francisco music scene, Shaina began branching out stylistically. Shaina currently tours with William Close & the Earth Harp Collective. When she’s home in the Bay Area, she leads the Jazz Mafia string section, Cosa Nostra, several hip-hop & soul projects, and plays with San Francisco’s Magik*Magik Orchestra. Highlights of her performance career include appearances at Kennedy Center, The Super Bowl, Carnegie Hall, and featured sets at the Montreal & Playboy Jazz Festivals and Beijing’s Spring Festival. Shaina runs her own violin studio and is on faculty at the San Domenico School.
